Canton's Holiday Giving Program Seeking Donations

Government and Politics

October 26, 2022

From: Town of Canton

The Town of Canton's Holiday Giving Program is officially underway! Please consider donating toys for children 12 and under, retail gift cards for teens, gift cards for gas, groceries and pharmaceutical items; cash and checks are also greatly appreciated. Pantry Food is sought as well.

On Saturday December 3rd, keep your eyes peeled for the Canton Police Department and the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) who will be stocking their vehicles with donations at The Shoppes of Farmington Valley and Ocean State Job Lot. Together with Canton Senior and Social Services, The Canton Food Bank and the organization formerly known as Gifts for Canton with co-chairs Deneen Lockwood and Jill Brandon - they will all be working together with the community to make this a special holiday season for those in need.

This year will be particularly hard on the needy as they grapple with the burdensome effects of continued inflation and the coming winter months with climbing food and fuel prices. The generous contributions received from the Canton community will be making the holidays all the more joyful for anyone struggling. Thank you for your consideration. Questions? Call 860.693.5811.
