I'm originally from North Carolina, and my clinical background has been in both outpatient and inpatient settings, including academic and private practice. I'm excited to be returning to outpatient primary care in General Internal Medicine and will be seeing adults 18 years of age and older at Eastowne. In pairing my background as a general internal medicine physician with my doctoral training as a cardiovascular epidemiologist, my research interests derive from the common cardiac problems encountered in general medicine, and in our aging population. My research has been in the areas of epidemiology or population health, specifically related to atrial fibrillation, heart failure, obesity, respiratory disease, and racial disparities. In addition, I enjoy working with junior faculty to educate them about career development award funding opportunities. In my free time, I enjoy playing tennis, listening to audiobooks, walks with my dog and playing board games with my family.
