Andrew Pippas, M.D., obtained his Doctor of Medicine in 1986, from the University of Utah School Of Medicine. He trained at Duke University Medical Center as an intern resident and fellow, completing his fellowship in 1993, in hematology/oncology. He had a Physician Scientist Award and served as a faculty member at Duke Hospital until 1996. He then joined the Watson Clinic in Lakeland, Florida and subsequently started a cancer research clinical trials program. In 2003, he joined the John B. Amos Cancer Center and in 2010, became a Georgia Distinguished Cancer Scholar. He oversees the cancer clinical trials program at the John B. Amos Cancer Center and has an interest in GI oncology and supportive care clinical trials. Dr. Pippas enjoys traveling with his wife and children.
