Description:
The Wayland Public Library’s mission is the effective delivery of modern public library services to the community, especially by providing adults and children with free access to a wide selection of reference and circulating books and nonprint materials in a variety of formats.

In serving this mission, the Wayland Public Library will:

Offer a wide variety of circulating materials for adults and children.

Provide high quality reference and information services on-site, making use of automated databases and other new technology as appropriate.

Collect materials relating to Wayland’s past and present.

Provide interlibrary loan services to obtain materials not available in its collection.
Present educational and cultural programs, including, but not limited to storytelling for children, books discussions, lectures, and films for adults.

Play the role of community center and public forum providing space for art and other exhibits, posters, and publications of local interest.

Deliver these services with a helpful, service-oriented staff in an attractive setting that is open an optimum number of hours with handicapped access and adequate parking.
