Following its $11 million re-model, Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center is now the Crown Jewel of the South Bay arts scene. With its new bold, modernistic Grand Lobby, featuring a black Indian slate exterior, a granite water feature, stainless steel and cherry wood accents and a 21-feet high cherry ceiling, the 1,457-seat theatre is home to two prestigious and highly successful presenters:

Distinguished Speaker Series:

Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center is honored to host the Distinguished Speaker Series, which has presented such dignitaries as Margaret Thatcher, Tom Brokaw, Walter Cronkite, Colin Powell, and Madeleine Albright. This year’s lineup features former Actor/Director/Environmentalist Robert Redford, Mt. Everest conqueror Peter Hillary, Health and Fitness expert Dr. Andrew Weill, journalist Tim Russert, presidential historian Doris Kearns Goodwin, former General Tommy Franks, and political humorists The Capitol Steps.

Civic Light Opera of South Bay Cities:

RBPAC is most especially proud to be called home to the largest producing musical theatre company in Southern California, the Ovation Award-winning Civic Light Opera of South Bay Cities. RBPAC's official Resident Musical Theatre Company will conclude their 2006 Season with Oliver!, and will open their 2007 Season with spectacular productions of Sophisticated Ladies and Annie Get Your Gun.
