Description:
Join the Lee-Fendall House Museum & Garden for a Teddy Bear Parade on Saturday, July 3 from 10 am to 12 pm. Children ages 3 and up may participate (sorry, no pets allowed!). Participants can enter one of two age groups: ages 3-6 and 7-11. Three winners (1st, 2nd, and 3rd) will be selected in each age group. Children should dress themselves and their teddy bear (or favorite stuffed toy) as a figure in American history. Examples include: Harriet Tubman, Clara Barton, Benjamin Franklin, Sacagawea, Babe Ruth, Martin Luther King, Jr., Thomas Edison, and Amelia Earhart. Children will participate in Victorian games and activities during the course of the morning. Mr. Widget will be on hand with children's entertainment, including balloon animals and juggling. All activities, including the parade, will take place in the private garden of the Lee-Fendall House Museum & Garden. Admission is $5 per child marching in the parade – this also includes admission for one chaperone. Each additional family member will be assessed a $2 entry fee. Register now by calling 703-548-1789.
