Literacy Volunteers of America-Prince William is recruiting adults who are intersted in helping other adults improve their literacy skills.  Our non-profit organization has been providing free basic literacy services to the adults of PrinceWilliamCounty since 1991. All of our tutors are volunteers and previous teaching experience is not needed.  Tutors and students must be 18 years of age or older in order to participate in our program. Potential tutors will be trained at our quarterly Tutor Training Workshop where they will learn how to help student(s) reach their literacy goals.  The average student/tutor match meets once a week with the meeting time being flexible based on your personal schedules.

 There is a one-time fee of $35 for the tutor training. The fee covers your text book and other workshop materials.  We provide breakfast and lunch for the first session and breakfast for the second session.  You may also visit our website at www.lvapw.org for further details.  If you have any questions do not hesitate to contact us.
