Youth Outlook


Youth Outlook provides safe, supportive, and respectful environments for adolescents who identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender or questioning; through wellness education, leadership development, drop-in centers and community education in DuPage, Kane and DeKalb counties. Formerly Questioning Youth Center (QYC), the organization is over 10 years old. Programs: Drop-in Centers in Geneva, Naperville, DeKalb & Aurora provide safe social settings for youth to meet weekly to support each other and discuss topics of interest to the participants.

 

Youth Leadership Program provides opportunities to help run drop-in centers, assist with volunteer training, organize special projects, participate in community education and advise the agency board through the Youth Advisory Board.

 

Our Turn, a program for lesbian, bisexual, transgender and questioning young women, provides a safe, supportive environment to discuss topics such as gender stereotypes, body image, stress management, internet safety, etc.

 

Transcend, a program for transgender youth, provides a forum to discuss issues such as gender identity, hormone injections, legal issues, etc.
