Mission Statement:

Weston Public Library was first organized on September 28, 1942, as a school district public library. The library's first annual budget was $1000, with $750 of that money earmarked for the librarian's salary. One new building and three additions later brought the Weston Public Library building to its present size of 8,163 square feet. In 1978, Weston Public Library added a branch library in Grand Rapids.

The purpose of the Weston Public Library is to provide and coordinate equal access to creative and factual resources containing a wide range of ideas for individuals of all ages in the Otsego School District and surrounding area, including those with special needs. Special emphasis is placed on stimulating young children's interest in and appreciation of reading and learning, and on providing current high interest materials in a variety of formats.

The library also offers supplementary resources for use by elementary and secondary school students, and serves as a source for self-education and personal enrichment. Weston Public Library and Grand Rapids Branch Library have combined material holdings of 68,000.
