At Volunteer Guardianship One on One, we believe that anyone serving in the important role of guardian should have a basic understanding of what it means to be a guardian and how to successfully carry out their fiduciary duties and responsibilities. We also believe that guardians should have a place they can turn to for guidance and assistance as well as for the latest news and events that impact older adults and those with disabilities. Issues like how to manage and invest someone's finances, or how to prepare an accounting, or how to make medical decisions for another person, or deciding where a person should live are all very important questions and the answers may not be as clear as we would like. In these situations, a guardian needs a resource they can look to for help if they need it.

Although we recruit and support volunteers to serve as guardians, we also invite family members and friends who find themselves having to serve as guardian for a loved one to register with us so that they too can reap the benefits of being associated with our agency. Guardians associated with us receive free education through our Center for Guardianship Studies as well as access to our extensive support network. Licensed professionals may also be entitled to CEU credits for certain courses they may take.

So, if you are interested in learning more about how to serve as a guardian, please visit our Center for Guardianship Studies link below and see the various courses we offer. Or, if you are serving or plan to serve as a guardian and would like to consider joining our organization, please contact us and we will be happy to explore this option with you.
