Village Of Mendon

102 South Main Street

The village of Mendon is a small community consisting of about 700 people. It is a close-knit community with strong family ties.

Many wonderful events take place in this great town. In March, the Mendon Lions Club holds its annual soup supper and auction and it sponsors the annual Easter egg hunt for the children of the village.

Easter Sunday is a time of fellowship in our community. Mendon First Church of God, Mendon United Methodist Church, and the Ross Church of the Brethren all congregate for sunrise service at alternating churches. The Ross Church always supplies a terrific breakfast after the service.

In May, we have our Mendon Union Alumni Reunion and Banquet to get together with old friends from school. We have a Memorial Day parade and service with the Parkway Marching Band and area veterans leading the parade to the bridge.

In June, we have a Firecracker Festival held on the school grounds. There are rides, food, and lots of fun for everyone.

During Halloween, we have trick-or-treating and a costume contest. The Fire Department has a chili supper for the community to enjoy. This year we got to enjoy it in their new Fire Station. They even hosted the costume judging. There was a tremendous turn out for this event!

In November, the First Church of God holds an Election Day dinner to be enjoyed after our residents vote.

December is our annual Christmas Walk and Festival of Trees. The Christmas Committee decorates the Village Hall and invites everyone to bring in trees and decorate them with their own theme. Then you can tour area homes and view their collections of Christmas decorations. Santa is always waiting to hear the little ones Christmas wishes.
