Mission:

Trinity is a diverse Christian family seeking to follow Christ's example by Loving God unconditionally through Living our faith openly and Serving others compassionately.

History:

Trinity Baptist Church was chartered on August 7, 1994. For the first two years, Dr. Earl C. Davis, founding pastor, and more than 350 members met for Bible Study and Worship Services in the Cordova Community Center located on the north end of Sanga Road.

In June 1996, Trinity moved into the first unit of buildings at its present location. The multi-purpose building included a gymnasium, church offices, kitchen and educational classrooms. The gym, which included a choir loft and baptistery, was used for worship services on Sundays. Recreational fields were also established on the church property.

In November of 2000, the second phase of the building plan was completed. The Davis Chapel, which was dedicated in January of 2001 to honor Dr. Earl C. Davis and his wife, Pegeen, seats approximately 450 people. The building has a music suite on the first floor and education classrooms on both the first and second floors. Nestled between the first building and the Davis Chapel is a prayer garden.

Following Dr. Davis' retirement in December of 2000, the church called Reverend John Gilbert as interim pastor. Rev. Gilbert and his wife, Ann Mary, served Trinity for seventeen months during which time the church continued to grow its membership.

On June 23, 2002, Dr. Richard S. Hipps preached his first sermon as Pastor of Trinity Baptist Church. "Pastor Richard" and his wife, Patricia, had served as missionaries in Brazil for 11 years. Immediately before coming to Trinity, Dr. Hipps served for 9 years as pastor in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Trinity Baptist Church continues to grow with a current membership of more than 1,000.
