To Love a Canine Rescue, Inc. (TLC) is a non-profit, all breed, foster based, dog rescue based in Chester County, PA. Our mission is to find permanent homes for abandoned, stray and surrendered dogs in order to minimize the needless euthanizing of animals. Our dogs come to us from "put to sleep" lists at local and southern shelters, as well as from owner surrenders. We focus on making the right connections between our dogs and families in order to give the dogs the loving & permanent home they deserve. That means we are honest with our applicants about what we have learned about our dogs' temperament & needs to ensure the dog and family are well suited to one another. When you adopt from TLC, you become a member of our extended family and we are there to support you long after an adoption is complete.

Our Mini Paws junior volunteer program is designed to train children, 4-18, in proper animal care and instill a love of community service, and a community outreach program to provide education on responsible pet ownership, including the importance of spaying/neutering, behavior training, and microchip implanting.

TLC is proud to work with local organizations that match rescue dogs to their clients and train them for these special roles.

TLC dogs have already been trained to support local veterans, as well as people with medical or other issues through various organizations such as Train a Dog Save a Warrior (TADSAW) & Main Line Deputy Dog (MLDD). When a dog is assessed as a match for a client of one of our partner organizations, the client submits an adoption application though our normal application process but TLC waives adoption fees for dogs adopted through this program.
