About Us:

Tilles Center for the Performing Arts, on the C.W. Post campus of Long Island University in Brookville, is Long Island's premier concert hall. Under the leadership of Executive Director Elliott Sroka, the eagerly anticipated 2006-07 season will begin in October 2006 and feature such stars as Maureen McGovern, Blues Traveler, Lily Tomlin, Bo Diddley, the New York Philharmonic, Joshua Bell, The Joffrey Ballet, Pilobolus, Cats, The Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and a tempting array of family shows, just to name a few. The Center recently finished a comprehensive renovation, including a significant upgrade of interior facilities and the addition of a soaring glass and steel atrium.

A constituent of Long Island University, Tilles Center presents world-renowned artists in over 70 music, dance and theater performances each season. Many of Long Island's leading arts organizations, including the Long Island Philharmonic, call Tilles Center home. Among the artists and organizations that have been presented by the Center are the Boston Symphony Orchestra conducted by Seiji Ozawa, cellist Yo-Yo Ma, the Big Apple Circus, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, New York City Opera National Company, Dianne Reeves, the Paper Bag Players, Wynton Marsalis, the MET Orchestra with James Levine, and Patti LuPone.

North Fork Hall, the main theater of Tilles Center, seats 2,242 and features orchestral performances, fully-staged operas, ballets and modern dance, along with Broadway shows, and all forms of music, dance and theater from around the world. Chamber music, cabaret, solo recitals, and theater productions for children and adults are presented in the more intimate 490-seat Hillwood Recital Hall.
