Situated between Sauk City and Baraboo amid some of Wisconsin's most critical natural areas, the lands of the former Badger Army Ammunition Plant harbor important populations of rare and declining plant and animal species, and provide a one-time-only opportunity for innovative conservation partnerships.

The Sauk Prairie Conservation Alliance goals include the facilitation of conservation of the broader Sauk Prairie landscape; and the development and implementation of a coordinated set of outreach, research, and education programs that inform, inspire, and draw in a wide diversity of organizations and individuals.
