The Peralta Memorial United Methodist Church

25 Wesley Road
505-865-9334

About Us:

Peralta Memorial United Methodist Church believes in showing God’s Kingdom to the world. Through action, prayer, worship, and study we share the love of Jesus Christ.

We believe that we are called to do the things Jesus tells us to:

  • Feeding the hungry
  • Providing clothes and household goods
  • Visiting the sick and those in prison
  • Teaching children how to follow Jesus
  • Offering love, hope, and grace to our community
  • Authentic worship, Bible study, and prayer

Our church was chartered as Valencia Community Methodist Church April 17, 1957, with 33 charter members. The church continued to meet at the Stover house until early 1959 when the congregation moved into a new building on the property just west of the D.C. Jones dairy on Highway 47. This building had been constructed with donated labor of church members and friends. That building is now our Fellowship Hall. In 1961, the entire congregation pitched in to add an educational wing to the building. In 1962, church members built a parsonage, and in 1989 it was remodeled and today is the Wright Building. In 1966, the two churches merged and the name “Peralta Memorial Methodist Church” was chosen in honor of the founding of Methodism in this area.

In 1968, “United” was added to the church name, and it became the “Peralta Memorial United Methodist Church” when the Evangelical United Brethren and Methodist Churches were merged. The current sanctuary was consecrated on April 21, 1991.
