The Children's Tumor Foundation

101 Hickory Lane
864-963-2064

The Children's Tumor Foundation (CTF), a 501 (c)(3), is determined to find a cure for Neurofibromatosis (NF), a genetic disorder.

NF1 affects 1:3,000 births; NF2 affects 1:35,000 births and Schwannamatosis affects 1:40,000 births. There's a 50/50 chance the condition will be inherited or manifest itself as a spontaneous mutation. As the name indicates, nerves are involved. Neuro = nerve; fibro = tumor; matosis = condition. It is not related to fibromyalgia and is definitely not the "Elephant Man's Disease" as was wrongly ascribed many years ago.

The CTF SC NF Support Group meets on the SECOND THURSDAY of the month, either at 11:30 am or at 7:00 pm, depending on the schedule. Located at St. Francis-Eastside, Building C, Room 201 (second floor).
