Teaneck Public Schools

One Merrison Street
201-833-5508

Operated under the aegis of the Board of Education, the Teaneck Community Education Center is self-supporting in that administrative costs and instructors' salaries are paid by fees, not tax dollars.

Something for Everyone is the motto of the Center, which strives to meet the needs and desires of people of all ages. More than 200 afternoon, evening and weekend classes are provided for high school students and adults, and on-site after-school classes are held in the elementary and middle schools. In addition to its regular programs, the Center sponsors a number of programs that expand upon the regular services of the schools. School Age Child Care is provided before school and after school at Bryant and after school at Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Jefferson.

Teaneck's youngest residents are not ignored. There are dance classes for toddlers, Mommy/Daddy and Me programs, and science classes for five-year-old children. Low-cost parenting workshops are offered.

Through a grant, the center also offers TW2 (Teaneck Women Train and Work) workshops for women heads of households in need of new career directions and support.
