Mission:

The mission of Stark Parks is to acquire, preserve, and develop natural areas for passive recreation, conservation, education, and nature appreciation. Your Stark Parks works to ensure the long-term viability of the Park District through annual fundraising activities and the passage of levy initiatives. Stark Parks relies on one property tax to fund maintenance, operating costs, educational programs, and special events. 

Formed in 1997, this group includes community supporters who choose to take an active role in preserving Stark County's parks for future generations.

Today Stark Parks includes:

-100+ miles of walking/bicycling trails

-31 miles of equestrian trails

-14 parks, including 25 miles of the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail

-778 educational programs and events to 36,301 participants

-30 Distance Learning programs for 1,079 students across the U.S.       

-Nearly 8,000 acres of land, including 1,200 acres of lakes, ponds, reservoirs
