Mission Statement

We are the people of St. Margaret Mary Alacoque Parish, who live in the villages of Lester and Essington where the Swedes first settled in their quest for a peaceful life, and where they could live in an atmosphere which supported love of God, neighbor and self.  While our communities have grown and become more diverse, blending the beauty of many lands, creeds and cultures, our people have continued to strive for an atmosphere of peace and love.
As our parish accepts this process of renewal, we strive to work for our community's spiritual well-being through the following commitments:

- To worship God through constant prayer, participation in the sacrifice of the Mass, and celebration of all the sacraments.

- To build and nourish Christian community by offering the opportunity to each and every person to renew and strengthen his/her faith.

- To proclaim the Good News by welcoming everyone and inviting all to live and share the Gospel through participation in the liturgy, bible study and social activities.

- To teach the saving message of Christ by initiating Christ's example of understanding and compassion, so that all people may come to a deeper awareness, knowledge and witness to Christ.

- To serve all the poor and needy and work together in the pursuit of peace, justice, and love.

We pray to the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, through the intercession of Mary, the Immaculate Conception, to whose care the Archdiocese is consecrated, and through St. Margaret Mary Alacoque, the Patroness of our Parish, to whom Jesus reveled the treasures of His Sacred Heart.  In sharing her devotion to His Divine Heart,  we hope to receive It's abundant graces.  May the Lord of Light guide us and inspire our hearts to live the statement every day of our earthly journey.
