About Us:

The Southbury Garden Club, founded in 1959, is an educational, charitable, nonprofit organization. The Club is affiliated with The National Garden Clubs, Inc., The New England Region of National Garden Clubs, Inc., and The Federated Garden Clubs of Connecticut, Inc.

The goals of the Club are to promote interest in horticulture, further the conservation of natural resources, increase knowledge in the artistic use of plant material, and assist in civic programs.

2012 marks the club’s 53nd year of involvement in the community.  Ongoing civic projects include: holiday wreaths at Southbury Town Buildings; garden therapy baskets to residents of Safe Haven; floral design demonstrations at area nursing homes; awards to local businesses for outstanding landscaping, and an annual Sunflower Growing Contest co-sponsored with the library’s children’s department.  The club also maintains five public gardens in Southbury parks.

Meetings are held on the first Friday of each month from March through December with an annual luncheon meeting in December.
