Simpson Elementary School is a P2, P3, and 4th grade center. The primary students are grouped in P2 and P3 teams. The fourth grade students are heterogeneously grouped in teams with three teachers per team. Teaching strategies utilized by teachers include thematic units, learning centers, cooperative learning, "hands-on" activities, and grouping to meet individual student needs. The fourth grade instructional focus includes application of skills developed in the primary program with emphasis on writing, reading to learn, and interdisciplinary units. Special areas provide for extended learning opportunities.
