Sharon Historical Society


Founded in 1971 as Sharon Springs celebrated its centennial and dedicated to preserving the history of Sharon.

Admission to Museum and Chestnut school house is free, donations accepted. All proceeds from sales go to the Sharon Historical Society

Located on Main Street (Rte 10) in the historic district of the Village, the museum features items, documents, photos and Sharon memorabilia. Upstairs are room exhibits of Victoriana life complete with the inhabitants dressed in the fashion of the era. The Chestnut Street School, relocated to its current place of honor next to the museum, is a one room school house circa 1860. This recently completed project reflects the Historical Society's 8 year effort to preserve this charming era of reading, writing and "rithmatic.
