This past year has had many blessings. While part of me is so thankful that it is gone, another part recognizes that God was doing some powerful things in our midst. Because of our personal experience with vehicle accidents, home repairs, and family transitions, we are painfully aware of the cost that this past year took on our lives. Others around have been confronted with even greater challenges as the economy has shuddered under the weight of collapsing institutions and businesses.

Within those collapses are signs of judgment for greed and foolish investments. More than anything, this year has taught us the true value of so much we hold dear. Home values have flat-lined. Employment options have dried up. Wages are static and are even in retreat. Core businesses need assistance.
