Saints of Runneymede Holiness Church

7711 White Marsh Road

The Saints of Runneymede had its beginning in a vision. Where there is no vision, the people perish (Proverbs 29:18). The mane of our church was derived from the name of the area, Runneymede, simply put, The Saints of Runneymede Holiness Church.

God had seen how his people suffered and needed deliverance from economic, social and spiritual bondage. In 1957, Andrew A. Cypress, founder and former pastor, answered the call to proclaim the message of deliverance and salvation through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

In 1963, God gave his instruction to build a house of worship in a time of economic depression, social injustice and spiritual decay.

We applauded his accomplishments as he ushered us into yet another era of spiritual growth and development. Foe many years, we listened to his words of wisdom as the Holy Spirit directed him. In 1984, God took him home to be with him.

Not by popular demand, nor by selective process, but by divine ordination, God spoke unto is son, Andrew L. Cypress in October 1984: saying arise, go over Jordan (Joshua 1:2). As I was with Moses, so I will be with thee. He began to proclaim the same Gospel of salvation and deliverance, and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Building the Lord a house was in his charge. In July 1986 our groundbreaking ceremony was held. The church's dedication service was held April 24, 1988.

What We Believe
We believe in the preaching of the gospel (God's Word) in its purity and with power: to convict men and women of their sins, to teach the way of Holiness as set by Jesus and his apostles (Ephesians 2:19-20).

Vision
To share the word of God for the cause of winning people for Christ' and to edify the body of Christ.

Mission
Our church strives to create a Christian community led by the Holy Spirit, one that will nurture and support each individual's effort to love and serve Jesus Christ. Under the guidance of the scripture, we seek to build up the body of Christ through worship, prayer, witnessing, teaching, and fellowship and outreach both within the congregation, surrounding communities and throughout the world.
