Saint Michael Lutheran Church

109 East Doe Run Road
610-347-1696

On a typical Sunday morning, St. Michael is home to 270 worshipers of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Over 140 children, youth and adults participate in our Sunday school. The congregation is a diverse group of people who are searching for meaning in a confusing world, who yearn to belong and be nourished in the faith, and who seek to serve Christ in the world. Worship services are a testimony of our Lutheran heritage. The population is generally upper to middle class, and comfortable with the turnover associated with the transient nature of many who live in this region. To the local community, St. Michael is regularly referred to as "the friendly church".

St. Michael has experienced constant growth over the past decade and has responded to the associated needs as they have arisen. When the original worship space (now the fellowship hall) could no longer hold the congregation in two services, a new sanctuary was built in 1997. Shortly thereafter, it became evident that another rostered staff person was needed. Our Associate Pastor, Jonathan Conrad was called to St. Michael in June, 2004. As growth continues, we are now on the cusp of another expansion project that will include a 300 seat Fellowship Hall with a larger, state of the art kitchen; administrative offices; remodeling the old fellowship hall into classrooms; and creating a music suite for our music ministry in the current administrative wing. The project is projected to begin in June of 2007 and be completed in May of 2008. St. Michael has a proud five-decade history of being faithful people. Our church family recognizes that God has richly blessed His church in this place and is leading us into another phase of growth to better meet the needs of its people as well as the needs of our local community.
