Saint John's Episcopal Church Of Carlisle

1A North Hanover Street
717-243-4220

About

St. John's still occupies the original site on the town square that was reserved for the "English Church." The first celebration of the Eucharist took place on Trinity Sunday 1752. The first church to meet in Carlisle, the parish is named in honor of St. John, evangelist and apostle, also know as the "Beloved Disciple."

Today, we are an extended family of some 900 baptized persons. Like all families, we have our own varied traditions and interests. When all our committees and ministries are counted, there are about ninety ongoing activities within the parish, from our choirs to the refugee resettlement ministry, the Church School, and the Twelfth Night Boar's Head Festival.
