Sacred Heart Church

Rural route1 Box 101

After the Pottawatomi had moved into the older Seminole area in 1875, the call for Christian ministry and teaching went out. The Benedictine Fathers and the teaching nuns established the church a bit North- Northeast of the Wagon Road from Chickasaw county crossed the South Canadian which was later called Young's crossing. This congregation dates back from 1876 when the Benedictines, and their leader Father Isadore Robot led this small mission.

Sacred Heart just got a new priest, so they are in the process of getting new programs.
