Rotary Club of Owings MillS - Reisterstown

The club has accomplished a lot in its brief history. We started small with our sights set on larger projects down the line. Our first group effort was with the Humane Society of Baltimore County's annual event, Bark in the Park. We set up our booth to raise awareness of our presence in town and some money for the Humane Society and the good work they do. Later that year we set up our tent at the annual Reisterstown Festival. We also participated in the parade before the official opening of the festival.

From that event we were able to make contributions to two of the volunteer fire departments in the area that our club serves. We later teamed up with the rest of the Rotary Clubs in central Maryland on a large-scale effort, directed by Raymond Streib, the district governor at the time, to distribute over 60,000 dictionaries to every 3rd grade student in the central Maryland region.

Our focus continued into the winter season as we began our partnership with the Owings Mills High School to help with the youth of our community. Initial discussions began about how we could help with the project and we are now involved with the Sports Boosters to get the project up and running.
