Roots and Wings Family Farm
The CSA runs from June until winter arrives in late October/early November. One share is generally enough vegetables to feed one to three adults for a week.
The produce is set out on tables "market style" with a list of what and how much is alloted for each share that week. There are usually choices in types of produce (ie, carrots, beets, or both), as well as between varieties (ie, red, blue, or white potatoes, or some of each!). If there is something you don't want, leave it on the "trade table" and take something else.
Roots & Wings is a small, young farm managed with a commitment to sustainable agricultural practices. We currently raise vegetables, herbs, and cut flowers. In the future, as the farm matures, we hope to include fruits, eggs, meats, baked goods, landscape plants, value-added products, and other things that our neighbors are interested in. Our products are mainly sold through a Community Supported Agriculture program (CSA). We also stock the "Veg Shed", our roadside stand on Main Street (call/email for hours) and supply some area restaurants.
