"Mission Mindedness"

Jesus' ministry is "holistic." He comes to heal us body, mind, soul, community, culture, nation, world. Because of the scriptural mandate to "go into all the world" - that is just what we endeavor to do.

From a financial standpoint, First UMC participates in the worldwide ministry of the church by giving 100-percent of what is asked of us by the North Alabama Conference. We see this as an important act of faithfulness.

In addition to financial support, we have a Missions Committee that is very proactive and creative in supporting foreign and home mission over and above what is required or expected.

Also, communion offerings go into our Pastor's "Special Fund," and are used to help persons in our community with groceries, utility bills, gasoline, clothing, etc.
