Real Services has the responsibility of planning, developing, implementing and administering a network of services that are of high standards, are known, available and used by older adults and low income households in north central Indiana (Elkhart, Fulton (low-income only), Kosciusko, LaPorte, Marshall and St. Joseph Counties), based on their age and/or economic status.

The ultimate objective of REAL Services is to assist in establishing a community in which those we serve can maintain their independence to the maximum degree possible and find meaning and satisfaction throughout their lives.

The Indiana Family and Social Services Administration designated REAL Services as the Area Agency on Aging for implementation of the Older Americans Act and related programs in Elkhart, Kosciusko, LaPorte, Marshall and St. Joseph Counties.

The Area Agency on Aging values Service, Dedication, Integrity and Quality of Life and strives to be the leader in Person Centered Planning for Home and Community Based Care.

The services are funded in part by a Social Services Block Grant; Titles III and Title V of the Older Americans Act; U.S. Department of Agriculture; Older Hoosier's Act; Voluntary Contributions; Community Development Funds; Low Income Energy Assistance Block Grant; U.S. Department of Energy; Corporation for National Service; Community Services Block Grant; St. Joseph County Government; and designated Estates, Trusts and Gifts; Department of Housing and Urban Development, the State of Indiana and Department of Labor.
