Rainbow Run - Walking Beyond Cancer

The Rainbow Run is meant to be an exciting family event where runners of all ages can participate and have fun, while helping to save the lives of children in need. All proceeds will benefit Castro Limon, a group that runs a hospital exclusively for cancer-stricken children in Tijuana. In order to enhance the overall experience, a few booths will be in place, spreading the word on how cancer shouldn't be an obstacle. If anything, it should give you a reason to fight for your life.

The idea of the run started all with a group of young 8th graders. It was required of them to do a project to help the community. They decided they wanted to help the children with cancer. They did not know how to start off, but they soon found a small organization, barely starting, and the best part was that it was willing to take them under their wing. Their name is The New Normal Experience. As an organization, they also wanted to do something to help since it was a cancer survivor support group. With the ideas of both, the idea of a run or marathon sprouted. Both the 8th graders and the group were excited, knowing it would be hard to organize, but willing to make it happen.

Getting help was the first step. The organization was able to contact another organization called Castro Limon, or also known here the International Children's Cancer Foundation. They were also able to get help from the SHARP hospital.
