On behalf of the members & employees of Pocono Mountain Lake Forest Community Association, the Board of Directors of the Pocono Mountain Lake Forest (PMLFCA) wishes to welcome you to our new web site. We hope you enjoy your visit and come back to visit us frequently. While you are visiting, relax in the comfort of your home as you leisurely browse our many categories and sub-categories. Don't forget to add us to your "favorites" list, as we routinely update and change the information in our virtual community.
In an attempt to provide our community with a greater amount of information concerning the services and resources available to our neighbors, the Board of Directors of PMLFCA launched this web site in late August 2004. The Board of Directors was even more desirous of receiving feedback from the members and residents in a convenient, quick and efficient manner. As you tour our web site, you will find information about our facilities; our legal documents; minutes of Board meetings; important and enjoyable upcoming events; on-line surveys where, from the comfort of your home, you can tell us your opinion on important issues concerning your community. You also have direct email access to our Board and Management. If you want to volunteer to help with neighborhood beautification, or make a suggestion, you can email us. You will also see several classified ads on our web site. Some of them were provided to members for free (i.e., babysitting ads) and a majority of them were paid advertisements by our neighbors and area businesses (i.e. lawn care, legal services, etc.). We encourage you to support your neighbors, who are supporting this web site by placing classified ads here; we also invite you to contact us to have your classified advertisement placed on our web site.
For those who are visiting or are new to our community, Pocono Mountain Lake Forest is located approximately 75 miles northwest of New York City. It is nestled in the beautiful Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania's Pike County, surrounded by 25,000 acres of Federal and State forests offering a serene natural setting just perfect for relaxing with family and friends. PMLFCA was incorporated in 1975 in Delaware Township, Pike County, Pennsylvania. Originally established for recreational use, the association has been rapidly transforming into a full time gated residential community. The association has 975 original parcels located in beautiful Dingmans Ferry, PA. Of those 975, PMLFCA owns 253, with the balance owned by homeowners and landowners. With over 200 acres of common greens, we have playgrounds, tennis courts, handball courts and basketball courts; in addition to our pride and joy, our 160,000 gallon swimming pool with an adjacent toddler pool for children 4 and under. Our pool also serves as the home of the PMLF swim team. Adjacent to our pool is our versatile Clubhouse, which we are fortunate and proud to have. In addition to being home to the PMLFCA Board of Directors and management, the Clubhouse has meeting rooms which are available to our members for rental. Our members utilize the Clubhouse for family birthdays, anniversaries and wedding celebrations; for scout and community meetings; for soccer, baseball and swim team parties; and the Association sponsors several events held at the Clubhouse, including Easter egg hunts, community garage sales, volunteer celebrations and community picnics. The Board of Directors also hold their monthly meetings at the Clubhouse on the fourth Sunday of the month and these open meetings are regularly attended by our concerned members.
Surrounding and weaving throughout our homes, are over 26 miles of private roads which our members utilize for sightseeing, leisure hiking or vigorous walks; you might even see some of the Pocono's finest wildlife such as deer, turkey and the always popular, black bear.
PMLFCA has a full-time office and maintenance staff to administer its programs and maintain the common property. PMLFCA provides services within the framework of the annually adopted budget; each of its more than 700 members is charged an annual assessment based on the type of ownership. Services provided by PMLFCA include grass cutting and landscaping of the common areas, snow removal, trash facilities, gate maintenance and road, parking lot and curb maintenance, various recreational services, and miscellaneous maintenance and administrative services. PMLFCA is also responsible for the enforcement of architectural controls and restrictive covenants, in an effort to preserve the integrity of the community.
The homeowners, members and Board of Directors of the Pocono Mountain Lake Forest thank you for visiting our web site and wish you an enjoyable stay.
