“Mommy and Me” Program at Kol Tikvah Expands
Parkland, FL – Each week toddlers can share songs, art, motor activities and fun with their moms at the “Mommy and Me” program of the Phylis J. Green Early Childhood Center (ECC) at Congregation Kol Tikvah in Parkland. Congregation Kol Tikvah is located at 6750 University Drive, Parkland.
This innovative program currently serves children ages 12 months through 24 months. To meet the needs of our expanding community, a new class has been added for two year olds. The newly developed two-year-old class is specifically designed to meet the needs of older toddlers and ready them for entry into the synagogue’s Toddler Pre-School Program. Each class provides the structure of a solid first school experience and a wide array of activities to stimulate and engage the children.
The “Mommy and Me Program” continues to flourish under the expert direction of Kimberly Singer, a Florida State Certified teacher and Parent/Infant Specialist who teaches the classes.
“The Mommy and Me program features theme based sensory, art, and motor activities each week,” explains Singer, mother of two. “An interactive circle and story time rounds out this fast-paced class for busy toddlers.”
Singer also adds that the class teaches parents fun and beneficial ways to help their child socially and academically. “Upon completion of the program, parents are able to leave each Mommy and Me class with strategies and activities to interact meaningfully with their child,” she says.
All classes meet on Thursdays. 12-18 month olds 9:15-10:15, 19-24 month olds 10:30-11:30 and Toddler Two’s-12:00-1:00. Snack will be served in each class. In addition, a Transition program is also available for those children who will move on to preschool.
Enrollment is currently taking place and limited space is available. Plans are also underway for adding a 6-12 month old class in the near future. For more information, please call Congregation Kol Tikvah at (954) 346-7878.
