We proudly protect 14,788 people living in an area of 4.5 square miles. We operate out of three stations. Our department is a public department including a combination of paid and volunteer members. The area consists mostly of residential and light industrial territory. The fire department provides fire protection to schools, retirement facilities, and a hospital, as well as several noteworthy businesses and housing developments that are constantly expanding. Funding comes entirely from fund drives, borough donations, and fundraisers. We have an ISO rating of four. Local alarms are handled with one engine. EMS incidents receive a mobile intensive care unit (MICU). An AED equipped engine is sent to all cardiac arrest incidents. 3 engines, 1 truck, 1 rescue, and 1 MICU handle box alarms.
