Peterborough Elementary School is a caring learning community that fosters academic excellence, responsibility and mutual respect.

Our school of about 370 students includes grades Kindergarten through 4th grade, divided into twenty classrooms. Support staff include the Guidance Counselor, Nurse/Health Educator, Librarian, and Art/Music, and Physical Education teachers.

PES teachers address the standards-based ConVal school district mathematics, science, social studies and language arts curriculum through engaging and developmentally appropriate instruction.

The school's exciting and successful arts enrichment initiatives include Artists In Residence (AIR) projects and Famous Artists Come To School (F.A.C.T.S.) presentations.

Our special programs include Title 1/Literacy Support groups, Reading Recovery, and book study groups; we also offer English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), Speech and Language Therapy, Intensive Learning/Life Skills Center (ILLSC) instruction, Occupational Therapy (OT), and Physical Therapy (PT).

Peterborough Elementary School is the winner of twelve Blue Ribbon Achievement Awards for School Volunteer Programs from the New Hampshire Partners in Education (NHPIE). Parents and community members routinely volunteer in classrooms, the arts enrichment program, and in the library and they participate in many special events sponsored by the school's Parent-Teachers' Organization (PTO).
