About Palm City Elementary:
At a current enrollment of almost 925 students, Palm City Elementary takes pride in its "visitor friendly" atmosphere. Families are actively involved in PTA, SAC (School Advisory Council) and varied volunteer activities. The School Improvement Plan, drafted with community input, emphasizes reading, writing, mathematics, science and the learning environment. Thanks to our outstanding staff, students, parents and community partners, we are an "A" school for the 9th year in a row. We are also the proud recipients of the Green School , Golden School , Five Star School , A+ School, SACS Star School , and the Florida School Recognition Awards. Through our partnership with the Palm City Chamber of Commerce, we were 100% "adopted" through the "Adopt-A-Class" program.

Our guidance department plays a major role in the total program, with an emphasis on character education, peer mediation, conflict resolution, and bully-proofing the school.

The school has a fully equipped science lab which contributed to our success in Regional Science Fair competitions. We have won the first place trophy many times, as well as recognition for Outstanding Science Teacher, in past and the current year. Varied music activities such as chorus, beginning and advanced bands, and tone chimes are offered after school, as well as Spanish, Reading, Writing and Math and Art Clubs. Students in grades 4 and 5 serve the school as Safety Patrols and K-Kids (youth Kiwanis).

The expansion of our media center has afforded us a networked computer lab, a TV Production Studio, a Publishing Center, and a user-friendly professional library. The school-wide network of computers enhances our Accelerated Reader program and multimedia opportunities in every classroom. Students are actively involved in the Sunshine State Readers and Sunshine Math programs.

Elements of the Conscious Discipline program are found throughout the school, where students benefit from the strategies that are utilized.
