History:

In 1967, property was purchased by the Diocese of Santa Rosa for a regional center to serve the Mexican-American people of the Windsor area. The center was called the “Guadalupe Apostolic Center”. The original church building was completed in early 1969 and the first Mass was celebrated in February.

In June, 1971 the Center was attached to St. John’s parish in Healdsburg until August, when it was then detached from St. John’s parish and given the title of “Mission Sui Juris”. During the administration of Rev. Wilfred Sheehy the title of the center was changed to “Our Lady of Guadalupe Mission”.

On April 6, 1982 a fire gutted the interior and roof. The rebuilding was completed in August 1983. A new rectory was finished in January 1986.

The current church was built during Rev. Thomas Gowing’s administration and dedicated on December 12, 1993, the feast day of Our Lady of Guadalupe.

In June of 1994, Our Lady of Guadalupe was officially made a parish in the diocese of Santa Rosa. In September, Our Lady of Guadalupe welcomed its first Pastor, Rev. Vincent O’Neill.

Thanks to the generosity of the parishioners and the Furth Family Foundation, the new parish center, The Mary Agatha Furth Center, was dedicated in December, 2000.

Pastor, Fr. Angelito Peries, guided our community from 1996 until June, 2012 when he left to go to Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Calistoga, CA to serve as their pastor. Father Erik, the associate pastor, went to St. Johns in Healdsburg, CA as associate pastor. They will be missed by all.

On June 18, 2012 we welcomed Fr. Michaelraj Philominsamy as our new pastor. He was pastor at Our Lady of Good Counsel in Fort Bragg, CA. He is settled in and acquainting himself with the many aspects of this parish.
