The North Reading Middle School is a community of students, parents and staff whose purpose is to create an environment to assist the adolescent in the transition from dependency to independent behavior. It will provide a balance of nurturing, support, and direction to enable the students to cope with the complex emotional, physical, social and academic changes specific to their developmental needs. This middle school environment will encourage students to increase academic competencies and skills, discover their own self-worth and potential, and respect the individual rights and values of others. It is the goal of the entire Middle School community to prepare students to function in today's socially and technologically challenging world.
