The Library

LPLD is a public library system serving the cities of Lawrenceburg and Greendale and the townships of Harrison, Jackson, Kelso, Lawrenceburg, Logan, Miller, and York. A reciprocal agreement with neighboring Aurora Public Library offers every citizen of Dearborn County the benefit of library services. The main library is located at 123 West High Street in Lawrenceburg, Indiana. The North Dearborn Branch of LPLD is located at 25969 Dole Road; West Harrison, Indiana.

The mission of the Lawrenceburg Public Library District is to provide resources for the pursuit of information, education and the use of leisure time.

Our Vision

The vision of the Lawrenceburg Public Library District (LPLD) is to provide our patrons with opportunities for life long learning, intellectual stimulation, the exchange of ideas and for personal enrichment. We are committed to the continual assessment of resources and facilities so that we may successfully meet the needs of our community. Our goal is to provide information centers with knowledgeable, courteous and dedicated staff who are committed to excellence in library service and who are responsive to the needs of the growing community. Facilities are to be inviting, comfortable and well maintained so as to provide an atmosphere conducive to research, and to the effective use and the enjoyment of the services and resources by all who enter. The support of committed volunteers shall be encouraged and valued.
