Niemann School is an elementary school where research-based instructional programs such as Four Blocks and Every Day Math are investigated, piloted, implemented and reviewed on a continuous basis to meet the needs of all students.

Niemann has received recognition as a Title 1 Distinguished School, and was the recipient of a Comprehensive School Reform Grant from the Indiana Department of Education for the years of 1999-2002. Our goals of increasing student achievement in reading, writing, and math have been the focus of school improvement efforts. These goals provide a shared focus for professional development, classroom instruction, and student achievement and assessment. Staff members have presented at state and national conferences on Four Blocks, student assessment, writing and parent involvement. The Niemann Family Involvement Team (NFIT) supports a variety of activities, events, and workshops for family participation and parent training to encourage a positive home-school partnership.

Niemann also houses an after school program through the Boys and Girls Club, and a Parents as Teachers program through Dunebrook.
