Nature Coast Ministries

7655 W Gulf to Lake Hwy Suite 8
(352) 563-1860

Our purpose at Nature Coast Ministries is to put forth in the community the expressed love, hope and forgiveness of Jesus Christ through actions which improve the quality of life for our citizens while respecting their inherent dignity as fellow human beings. We will do this without regard for race, gender, religion, age, marital status or station.

Nature Coast Ministries is a faith-based, stand-alone organization that seeks financial and volunteer support from the entire community. We do not pretend to hide the driving fact that it is our relationship with Jesus Christ that fuels our work here. Services will be available to anyone in need, and address both the physical and spiritual needs of those we meet.

Company Overview

We are a Volunteer Non-profit, non-denominational Christian Ministry organized to address the unmet needs of people in Citrus County. We minister to the needs of the homeless, unemployed, disenfranchised, ill and hurting people in Citrus County and offer them dignity and respect.

Description

Unbound by the constraints of governmentally funded organizations, we are able to move our ministry to serve the needs of people who need us most.

General Information

We have a thrift store to raise money to purchase food and cover expenses involved with helping people out. Our headquarters and store are very accessible, located on State Road 44 in Crystal River-just next to the RaceTrac Service Station. On Tuesdays and Thursdays between 10am and 3pm we provide food to approximately 1100 people per month. We help families who have lost their homes to fire,

foreclosure, eviction or other unfortunate circumstances. We provide them with furniture, food and household items to replace lost items. We help homeless people by providing guidance for improving their living situations-whether supplies, tents, propane stoves, food, sleeping bags and bug spray. We work in cooperation with area shelters for temporary emergency housing and with other local service agencies who work to provide physical needs.

We are working to open a Dental Clinic at the Catholic Charities building on Atlas Drive in Homosassa, Florida-just off of Highway 19. We are also getting ready to open a Medical Clinic in Crystal River. The clinics will be open to people who have low-income or no-income and do not have insurance, medicare or medicaid benefits. Patients will have to go through a qualification process, sign a hold-harmless agreement and then they will be given an appointment. Local Dentists, Physicians and health care professionals are volunteering blocks of their time to provide this service and without their service this would not be possible. We have committed professionals that are ready to start as soon as the offices are equipped. Right now we are working to raise the needed funds for equipment. We need approximately $80,000 to purchase dental chairs and supplies, and the medical examination tables and supplies.

Donations are gratefully accepted at our office. Since we are a 501c3 organization, donations are tax-deductible for income tax purposes. Please check with your tax accountant for further information.
