About Us:
Mt View Elementary School is located on the slopes of Kilauea Volcano on the Big Island of Hawaii. Driving south from Hilo, only 14 miles on Hwy 11, Mt View Elementary School stands with a beautiful view to the west of Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa Mountains which both reach heights of over 13,800'. Mt. View village is within close walking distance of the school campus. This unique area, 1500' above sea level, boasts gently blowing trade winds which bring the many cooling showers. These keep our tropical rain forest and surrounding area green and fresh. Mt. View is one of the many fine schools in the Puna/Kau Complex of the Island of Hawaii. We are glad that you have taken the time to experience our school's programs, outstanding students, and tremendous growing community.
