About Us:

MCHS opened in 1964 and is a consolidation of Green Township, Stoney Creek Township, Parker City and Farmland high schools.  The existing facility, first occupied in April 1978, replaced the original building which was destroyed in April 1974 by a tornado.  MCHS is a grade 7-12 school with approximately 525 students, 30 teachers, and 22 staff members.  Our school day consists of seven periods and is from 8:05 a.m. – 3:05 p.m.

Monroe Central Jr./Sr. High School is a professional learning community whose personnel embrace a moral commitment to Teaching, Learning, and Caring.  In partnership with our community we work to maintain a supportive environment that provides opportunities for our students to develop their full potential as citizens of a global society.  Our graduation rate for 2013 was 96.9% and 27% of our students earned Academic Honors Diplomas.  Through our partnerships with Indiana University and Ivy Tech we offer students college credit courses in a variety of subjects including Biology, Calculus, Chemistry, English, Government, Spanish and United States History.  37% of our recent graduates earned 3 or more college credits prior to finishing high school.
