Mill Creek Parish United Methodist Church

7101 Horizon Terrace
301-926-9024

Mission:

Our mission is to witness to the gospel of Jesus Christ in all the world, while worshipping God, and striving for truth, justice, and peace.

History:

Mill Creek Towne Parish held its first service on December 4, 1966 at Mill Creek Towne Elementary School, Derwood, MD.  Its founding Pastor was Rev. Jack Hamm.  The new church was sponsored by the Evangelical United Brethren Church.  Later, the name was changed to Mill Creek Parish United Methodist Church when the two united.  The founding covenant states that the mission of the church is “to witness to the gospel of Jesus Christ in all the world, while worshiping God, and striving for truth, justice and peace.”  On December 19, 1971, the congregation participated in the ground breaking ceremony for our first building.  Later on, after a very successful fund raising campaign, a new sanctuary was added and dedicated on May 18, 1997.
