McClellanville Arts Council

733 Pinckney Street
843-887-3157

The McClellanville Arts Council is a nonprofit organization chartered in 1977 to enhance the quality of life in the Seewee to Santee area of Charleston County, South Carolina with arts, cultural, and educational programming, and to record, preserve, and publicize the unique culture of McClellanville and the surrounding countryside.

For the past 30 years we have sponsored activities including workshops, concerts, exhibitions, book signings, publications, festivals, and classes, both at our Arts Center and in the local schools. Over the years we have offered instruction in printmaking, watercolor, life drawing, ceramics, basket making, mask making, paper making, drama, drumming, ballet, modern dance, African dance, batik, silk painting, photography, creative writing, quilt making, and puppeteering. We operate a consignment shop where local artists and craftspeople can sell their work, and our building has been used for many public programs, including scout meetings, the annual Audubon bird count dinner, SAT coaching, and exercise classes.
