About Us: 

As a member of the United Church of Christ, the Mattapoisett Congregational Church believes in extending extravagant hospitality to all – and we mean all. We believe God continues to speak to us: In scripture, life experience, nature, and through each other. We believe that God’s love for all creation was revealed fully in the person of Jesus Christ, who is central to who we are.

We understand God’s desire for the world to be that of unity, but certainly not uniformity. So we encourage each other on our individual faith journeys, and on the journey we share together. We understand ourselves to be part of the one Body of Christ, especially as we celebrate the sacraments of Baptism and Communion.

We also understand the word church to mean “community,” more than institution. We value relationships: With each other, with our community, with the wider church, with the world. We believe God calls us to live in joy, love, and service.
