Lomontville Fire Department proudly protects 700 people living in an area of 15 square miles. We operate out of 1 station that protects a primarily rural area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status.

The Lomontville Fire Dept was formed in the 1940's by a group a citizens who realized the need for fire protection. The Lomontville district is made up by the hamlets of Lomontville,Lapla,and Pacama. The district is bounded mostly by the Esopus creek but also includes the spillway of the Ashokan Reservoir which supplies water to New York City.
