Loess Hills Chapter Of The American Red Cross

535 West Broadway Suite 204
712-322-4017

The American Red Cross, a humanitarian organization led by volunteers and guided by its Congressional Charter and the Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross Movement, will provide relief to victims of disaster and help people prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies.

The Loess Hills Chapter has been proudly serving Southwest Iowa for 87 years. Our region includes: Mills, Pottawattamie, Fremont, Page, Montgomery, Harrison and Crawford counties. We respond to an average of 45 fires each year, assisting approximately 50 families with basic recovery support services of food, clothing, and shelter, as well as referrals to community agencies and crisis counseling. Almost 4,000 units of blood are collected in a year's time which yields 17,000 different blood products! We assist the Armed Forces Emergency Services by relaying more than 140 urgent messages to military personnel from their families every year. We also provide financial assistance to help families in crisis pay rent and utilities. And we deliver nutritious meals to over 190 of our elderly neighbors, six days a week through the Meals-On-Wheels Program.
